Your stalwart station co-managers visited the RNLI station at Amble recently to hand over the cheque for their share of the funds raised by the combined Auction which was held last September.
First, in front of the inshore lifeboat ...
... and then on the
all-weather lifeboat ...
Then your co-managers got a tour of the boat station
And around the lifeboat .... from the command centre ...
... past the gleaming engines (the boats and the station were all immaculate!) ...
... right down into the bowels!
But fear not!! They did eventually manage to find their way back out again into the fresh air, even if the sunshine was missing
So there was no interruption to service on Lionheart!
James and Anne thank all the people at Amble Lifeboat Station who made this experience so memorable. This web presentation is merely a sample of the enormous welcome we received, and shows just some of the lifeboat crew and shore-team who turned out in their own time for us.
We remind everyone that the RNLI and Community Radio are not commercial organisations and are not financially supported by the government. Every penny needed for our respective stations to operate comes from hard-won funding and donations. If you would like a trip around the station (Amble RNLI, or Lionheart Radio!), all fundraisers presenting their cheques will be treated royally!
