Lionheart Radio

Lionheat Radio is an entirely volunteer community radio station, broadcasting to you on 107.3FM from the heart of Alnwick to much of North Northumberland.

If you can’t hear us on air on FM, then listen to us via the “Listen Online” feature on this website, or via an Internet radio app on your smartphone, or via your smart-speaker.

Who are Lionheart Radio and Media?

• Volunteers from a broad cross-section of your community. Anyone (yes, really, anyone) can come along and contribute - presenting programmes, audio editing, developing news items, recording local events ...
• A small core team who run the venture and co-ordinate radio and media production
• A Board of six volunteer directors, each of whom contributes a particular expertise

What is Lionheart Radio and Media?

It is community venture with several objectives:

• To provide the local community (Alnwick and surrounding towns and villages) with its own radio station - dedicated to providing entertainment & services to the community
• To provide members of the local community with an opportunity to learn new skills and to participate in producing radio and media for the enjoyment and benefit of the community

Now with well over a decade on air, Lionheart Radio has matured from a novelty to a well-known, valuable resource, well integrated into the local community. Year on year, we have become increasingly recognised as fulfilling a need for a training establishment (particularly for youngsters interested in a career in media or entertainment). We maintain a supportive, confidence-building environment where everyone can participate to the best of their ability. We provide quality radio programmes and local information, and we are an approachable radio station that welcomes radio readouts from local social enterprises. Our presenters all welcome interaction with listeners.
