John Brown

John Brown John Brown

Name: John Brown

DOB: My birth certificate is on papyrus!

Origins I'm a Plastic Geordie having been born within the sound of Bow Bells, but brought up in North Shields.

Favourite Music? I like all kinds of music, but I'll be playing mostly Blues and Boogie on my show.

Favourite Singer? Madeleine Peyroux. I know she's not Blues but she's a great singer.

Favourite Pub? The Marquess of Anglesey in Covent Garden. It is the only pub I've ever been thrown out of, and I was thrown out on three separate occasions. It must have been my accent!

My Ideal Job? Coronation Programme Seller

Claims to fame I met Jools Holland in Schiphol airport one September when he and his band were off to record a New Years show for Dutch television.

I played in Billy Mitchell's first band, The Triffids, along with Will Browell, Bob Reynolds and Les Fisher. Now that really was a long time ago!

Major Failures I once fell off the back of a lorry. But I was a bargain!

When acting the role of Sir John Lampton, I forgot who I was. Prompting didn't help! And the first name was no clue at all!

Favourite Northumbrian Location All of it!
